LVL Lash Lift Review

At first, I really wanted to get semi-permanent lashes, but I had heard a few horror stories of the natural lashes falling out after having them! Some people would say "Oh, but it's fine! They grow back after a few weeks", ERM, Im good thanks!

Also, years ago, I had an inflammation in my eyelash glands and just my luck, it was particularly bad on my graduation day, although it was all smiles in my grad pictures, my eyes were really sore and I remember being in pain when applying my eye liner that morning. My sensitive skin means I am EXTRA careful with everything I use, but once I find it works, I stick to it.

This was the case with LVL, my bi-monthly beauty treatment that I have been having for around 6 months now. LVL stands for length, volume and lift, formulated to prevent damage to your lashes - dream treatment! I have only had Nouveau Lash treatment used on me, so I can't comment on any other brands.

So, what's the process?

Patch test - Whether you go to a salon or use a mobile beautician, do not assume because you rarely get reactions or that you dye your hair, that your eyes will not react. A professional will always get you to have a patch test at least 48 hours before your treatment.

Prepare - The lashes are cleansed before the treatment to remove any oils and residue. It is recommended to not wear mascara on your lashes the day of your treatment, it can affect your lash results.

Curling Shields - Silicone shields are placed on the lids, this is what each individual lash will stick to when the bonding formulas are used.

Bonding Formulas - First, the Bonding Gel is used. Each lash is very gently pulled and placed onto the bonding gel and stuck to the shield. This feels a bit weird but it doesn't hurt, and the first time I had the treatment it was like a gentle scratching feeling. Once all the lashes are stuck to the shield, the Lifting Balm is applied and the Volumising formula after. This whole process can take about 30 minutes.

Lash Tint - The final step is the tint, this gives the lashes an added depth which I love. The best thing about LVL is your lashes look like you always have mascara on, without having to use any! After approximately 10 minutes, the technician will use a small brush with serum to remove the tint and gently lift the lashes off the shield. When the shield is removed it can feel uncomfortable as the lids can be slightly sticky, but this will soon go.

Aftercare - Do not wet your lashes for 24 hours. Do not touch or rub your lashes which can affect the shape. I use a treatment at night as I am a regular LVL user and my daily mascara also includes treatment.

LVL lasts 6-8 weeks, which is why having the treatment every two months works great. My treatment costs under £40 using a mobile technician, Nirali Lashes, who travels to my home, so it doesn't break the bank and I feel completely at ease. I usually book the treatment around my holidays because this is when LVL benefits me the most. I can go in and out of the pool without worrying about having panda eyes and it makes ME feel confident when not wearing any makeup. Most of all, it leaves no lasting damage to my lash roots and enhances the lashes I already have!

Were you thinking of getting LVL done? Or are you a die hard fan of semi-permanent lashes?

Lots of Love,

Natasha.
