I didn’t really know what my first blog post should be, I thought I should just go straight into a product review and skip the shallow post which is all about me … but how can I introduce you to my NEW website and NEW blog without telling you why I’m joining the popular force of beauty blogging and how I started my journey in beauty.

This isn’t actually my first blog and I’ve also uploaded a YouTube video before *EEK* I literally cringed so much and deleted it after it being up for less than a day, that was over 7 years ago and obviously, a lot has changed since then.

When I was 17 and studying for my A levels to get into university, I really wanted to do beauty instead. Let’s just say my parents wouldn’t be happy with the idea of me dropping out of the traditional avenue of full time education to peruse beauty. So, I decided to do both!

I enrolled into a beauty college and studied for an NVQ in hair & makeup part-time. After a day of studying for my A-levels I would travel down to the beauty college and do a 2-hour class at college, after 3 months I had my NVQ in hair and makeup and got into Nottingham Trent University to study English Literature– Hard work ALWAYS pays off!

I've always been entrepreneurial, so I did another course in waxing and decided to pop up a beauty bed in my uni room to gain some extra income. I LOVE sharing tips and tricks on makeup and found people always asked me about how to do the new on trend hairstyle or how to contour; so I started the Beauty Society too, doing tutorials and society events with students who were passionate about beauty. During university I worked for a major skincare brand in their flagship stores around central London.

After graduating and forwarding on about 4 years I now work in Branding & Marketing in the cosmetics industry and freelance in hair and makeup. I absolutely love what I do and every day is different! Working in marketing and within PR means I'm involved with beauty bloggers and keeping up to date with them all the time, I think it's amazing how beauty blogging has become so influential ... so of course it would be silly for me not to join in! (Better late than never)

I don't know what this blog will lead on to, I don't even know if I will still be writing on here for months to come, but I hope you'll keep in touch one blog post at a time and go on this journey with me.
